Almost 180,000 people in Sonoma County California (not far north of San Francisco) have had to leave their homes because of a new raging wildfire. The Kincade fire is being fueled by enormous winds up to 80 miles per hour, causing California to declare a state of emergency.
Firefighters from around various counties in Oregon left on Sunday October 27th, 2019 to help fight the fire. Oregon counties represented by firefighters include:

- Lane
- Jackson
- Josephine
- Klamath
- Washington
- Clackamas
- Clatsop
- Columbia
- Marion
- Multnomah
- Benton
- Linn
- Yamhill
The Oregon firefighters will be working with those already in California to protect homes and other structures. The Kincade fire is approximately 10% contained. It's already burned through 47 square miles and demolished almost 80 structures.
