Seaside, Oregon, is a charming coastal town located on the northern coast of the state, known for its stunning ocean views, charming shops, and unique attractions. In fact, it's the coastal town that my folks took me to the most as a kid, and was probably my very first beach experience.
This place is buzzing with good vibes, stunning views, and wicked-cool attractions. Whether you're a beach bum, a foodie, or a history buff, Seaside is the place to be. From the beachfront promenade ("The Prom" to locals) to the arcades, candy shops, and old-fashioned carousel, I personally have such wonderful memories here.

The Times Theater & Public House, aka Sisu Brewing
One of the sweetest spots in downtown Seaside is the Times Theatre & Public House. This historic theater has been kicking it in this Oregon coastal town since the '40s and has always been a staple of the community, despite being closed for thirty years. It's been through a few facelifts since then, but the Times Theatre & Public House reopened in 2018, still oozing classic charm and character that make it one of the most iconic spots in town.
Movies, Live Music, and Sports at the Times Theatre & Public House
The Times Theatre & Public House is a beloved institution that draws locals and tourists alike with its eclectic mix of live entertainment, movies, and great food and drinks. The theatre's main stage hosts a variety of performances throughout the year, from stand-up comedy and improv shows to live music and theater productions. The venue's intimate setting and fantastic acoustics make it a favorite among performers, and audiences love the chance to see the top-notch talent up close and personal.
If movies are more your thing, the Times Theatre & Public House has got you covered. The theater shows an awesome selection of flicks on its big screen, from old-time classics to brand-new releases. With state-of-the-art projection and sound systems, you'll feel like you're right in the middle of the action. Plus, the cozy seating and chill atmosphere make for an ultimate movie night.
Great Food and Brews Next to the Big Screen
One of the unique features of the Times Theatre & Public House is its pub, which serves up a delicious selection of food and drinks. The menu features classic pub favorites like burgers, sandwiches, and fish and chips, as well as more unique dishes like Jambalaya and Caribbean Jerk Chicken. And of course, no pub would be complete without a great selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. The Times Theatre & Public House's pub is a popular spot for locals to gather and catch up with friends, and it's also a great place to grab a bite before or after a show.

A Movie Screen Disguising Sisu Brewing
Sisu Brewing is located right in the pub, and as the website proudly proclaims, the Times is "Half Brewery. Half Theater. All Seaside.". In fact, the fermenting tanks actually live right behind the big screen. "Sisu" is a Finnish word that has no definitive English translation but means something akin to a quality we all have inside us; grit, tenacity, and hardiness. That's the standard the brewery chooses to live by.
Nostalgic touches abound here. For instance, Beer Flights come packed into old film reels, each slot numbered with a convenient card showing which brew your mouth is about to enjoy.
Glorious Appetizers, Pub Food, and Entrees
Out of the Times Theatre & Pub's entire menu, I could make a meal out of the appetizers alone. Siracha Candied Bacon, deep-fried Avocado Wedges, Black & Tan Onion Rings, Fried Dill Pickle Chips, Poutine smothered in rosemary brown gravy...just GET IN MY BELLY.
Clam Chowder is a staple restaurant meal on the Oregon coast, especially when the creamy soup is served in a hearty fresh bread bowl. I'll take onion rings on the side too, please.
If you're in the mood for a burger, the Times Theatre & Pub has seven delicious options to choose from, including a veggie-friendly Impossible Burger®. All red meat patties can also be swapped out for a grilled chicken breast at no charge.
I'm a real sucker for a Cubano sandwich. The Times' version consists of roasted pork shoulder, deli ham, swiss cheese, sliced pickles, garlic aioli, and Sisu Beer® Imperial Stout mustard on a toasted ciabatta roll.
Another winner is the classic French Dip with a twist: roast beef, swiss cheese, grilled onions, and horseradish cream sauce on a toasted baguette with au jus on the side. Y'all had me at 'horseradish cream'.
A side of Sisu Beer Cheese sauce can basically be added to anything on the menu (because what does beer cheese sauce NOT compliment?).
In keeping with the classic theater roots, buckets of buttery popcorn and caramel corn are available to make your movie or live sports experience truly legendary.
