In less than two weeks, Portland area residents will be able to feast at Shake Shack’s newest location when it opens at the high-end Bridgeport Village. Here, diners will get to dig into juicy burgers and hotdogs, perfectly-crisp crinkle cut fries, and of course their famous frozen custard and thick, handmade milkshakes.
Shake Shack currently has two other locations in the Portland metro region, one at Cedar Hills Crossing that was opened in 2021, and the other that opened just this past spring in downtown Portland across from Powell’s Books. The new restaurant, just eight miles south of Portland in the suburb of Tigard, will feature an outdoor covered patio for al fresco dining as well as a cozy fireplace for those colder Oregon days.
The addition of Shake Shack at Bridgeport Village is part of a huge expansion and modernization effort of the mall that’s estimated to cost upwards of $35 million when it’s all complete. Other additions include a large central courtyard, covered dining area, a stage for live performances, as well as 20 new retail locations.
The popular restaurant chain is headquartered in New York, but has locations all over the world building up a truly global fan base. It’s sometimes hard to believe this world-wide phenomenon began as a simple hot dog cart in Madison Square Garden in the heart of Manhattan. Shake Shack has done this in large part due to their steadfast values as a company which include industry-leading animal welfare practices, sustainable building practices, and a commitment to the communities they serve by supporting local artists and hosting fundraisers for schools and local non-profits.
You can get your hands on some of their most popular items like the Shack Stack that comes with a fried portobello mushroom, the Chicken Stack made with crispy all-white meat chicken breast and buttermilk herb mayo, Bacon Cheese Fries, or a creamy custard shake all on October 18th.
