Feast on English-Pub Style Fish & Chips at This Charming Oregon Coast Restaurant

There’s no shortage of fish and chips restaurants as you travel up and down the coast, so when you find one that really stands out from the crowd you want to shout it from the rooftops. One such place is Pub Fish & Chips in Lincoln City, a casual and family-friendly restaurant that serves hand battered cod and halibut made fresh to order. This place is so good, but its one downfall is that you may accidentally drive right past it without giving it a second thought! This English-style pub on the 101 looks unassuming from the street (the restaurant shares a building with a Cold Stone Creamery next to a strip mall called Lighthouse Square), but what’s housed inside is pure magic.

First off, you know it’s gonna be good when you see a simple and straightforward menu with a basic but not boring selection of classic English pub food. They do all their battering by hand which is light and flaky but still has that nice crisp. And it’s always fried fresh, which is the only way to have it—no one wants soggy fried fish that’s been sitting in a warming tray for the last two hours. You can order chicken bites, fish (cod or halibut), or other seafood options like prawns, popcorn shrimp, or clam strips. No matter which way you go for your entree, you’re sure to be satisfied. Plus, the servings are big so you won’t go home hungry.

They also have a fantastic variety of appetizers like calamari sauteed with jalapenos and onions so it has just the right kick, fried pickles, or delicious fried cheese curds (which I’m told you can dip in caramel sauce—who knew!). Also on the menu are some truly excellent fish tacos, creamy and meaty clam chowder, breaded and crispy fries, and don’t forget to try their house coleslaw and tartar sauce!

It also wouldn’t be in true English pub style if they didn’t have beer, and the Pub Fish & Chips has 16 rotating taps of local and imported beer to choose from. Plus, they’ve also become known for their boozy milkshakes with favorites like the Captain Sparrow made with Bacardi, Coconut rum, and pineapple, or the Banana Boat made with Bacardi, Irish cream, banana, and graham cracker. It’s also very kid-friendly here and you can always get non-alcoholic milkshakes for the little ones.

One last great thing about Pub Fish & Chips is that it sources all its seafood from the Oregon Coast whenever possible, so you can feel great knowing you're supporting the local economy in more ways than one! They’re almost always busy here, but no matter what you’ll enjoy fast and friendly service. They have both indoor and outdoor seating (with a dog-friendly patio) so make it a point to stop by the next time you’re near Lincoln City and see for yourself why people up and down the coast claim this is the best fish and chips they’ve ever had.
